Deities & Sanctums

Sri Amirtha Ganapathi
Inside the temple, the daily darshan of Sri Amirtha Ganapathi is a blessing. During half of the year, the deity is offered sandalwood paste, providing a cooling effect and bestowing blessings. The Sankatahara Chaturthi festival has been celebrated with great enthusiasm every month for many years. Additionally, for the past two years, the Vinayaka Chaturthi festival has been celebrated as a five-day festival with Laksha Archana. For the first time in the history of the temple, from 2023, Sri Amirtha Ganapathi has been giving darshan to the people of Jwakar Nagar by walking through the streets, providing blessings and grace. The Vinayaka Chaturthi festival has been celebrated with grandeur for the past two years. Furthermore, the Maha Sankata Chaturthi is celebrated in a very special manner during the month of Maasi. During exam times, students worship the Lord by wearing garlands of coconut and banana, seeking blessings for good results and success in their studies.

Today, he continues to assist in many rituals at our temple. He led the Kumbhabhishekam ceremonies in our temple in 2002 and 2015.

Sri Amirthakadeswarar / Abhirami
in the sanctum of Lord Shiva, the deity Amirthakadeswarar bestows divine grace. In this very sanctum, Goddess Abhirami resides, adding to its beauty. This temple holds special significance, particularly during the Pradosham days, when the rituals are conducted with great reverence and devotion. On these days, Lord Nandi, who stands in front of Lord Shiva, takes part in a grand procession, circumambulating the temple premises, further enhancing the temple's sanctity and divine presence.

Sri Kanaka Durga
When devotees offer bangles (Valaiyal Kaapu) and tie a sari around the idol of the Goddess during the Aadi Puram festival, women who do not have children are blessed with the fortune of becoming mothers. Additionally, during the Navaratri period, nine different types of adornments are beautifully made for the Goddess, capturing the eyes of the devotees. During this festive period, Veda Parayanam (chanting of Vedic hymns) is also performed. The Abirami Mandali, a women's organization, plays a significant role in the temple's service during this time.

Sri Karthikeyan
In our temple, the Kandha Shashti festival is celebrated with great enthusiasm every year. During this time, Kartikeya presents himself to all of us in various adornments. On the completion day of Kandha Shashti, Lord Murugan's divine wedding ceremony concludes beautifully with annadhanam (free meal). Additionally, every month, abhishekam and decorations are carried out meticulously.

Sri Anjaneyar
Every month, on Amavasai day, abhishekam and prayers with 108 vadai garlands are performed with great devotion. Annually, Hanuman Jayanti is celebrated in a grand manner with 1008 vadai garlands. Additionally, Lord Hanuman continues to appear with adornments like the butter (vennai) garland.

Sri Ayyappan
For Lord Dharma Sastha, during the mandala period, daily ghee abhishekam and pada pujas are performed with great devotion. Devotees heading to Sabarimala traditionally tie two braids (irumudi) at our temple.

Sri Vidya Dakshinamurthy
The Vidya Dakshinamurthy, who bestows educational prosperity, has a separate sanctum in this temple. Devotees can visit and have darshan by circling around.

Navagraha Shrines
In our temple, daily routine prayers (Nithyapadi Pooja) are performed for the Navagrahas (Nine Planets). Additionally, special poojas are conducted meticulously during the transitions of Saturn (Shani Peyarchi) and Jupiter (Guru Peyarchi). These rituals are believed to bring auspiciousness and alleviate any negative effects caused by the planetary movements.

Sri Surya Narayana
In this town, there is no other place where the Sun Narayana temple can be seen. This is the unique feature of our temple. Special poojas are performed for him, and seeing him adorned with sandalwood paste is a mesmerizing sight.
